How is this different from freight fleet tracking?
Different questions, different hardware. Freight tracking optimises routes and consignments. A rental operator needs to know whether a vehicle has left an agreed area, how it is being driven and what condition it comes back in. A charter operator needs engine hours, bilge state and fuel, often beyond cellular coverage. A race team needs high-frequency data no logistics platform would ever produce.

What does marine telemetry cover on charter boats?
The things that end a charter: position, engine hours, bilge water and fuel. Bilge alerting in particular is the difference between a pump problem noticed at the dock and a serious incident. Because coverage matters more than bandwidth offshore, the units are cellular-primary with satellite fallback, so a vessel outside mobile range keeps reporting position and critical alarms.
What do motorsport teams get that consumer trackers cannot provide?
Sample rate and channel depth. Race and rally analysis needs 5 to 10 Hz GPS with lap splits, plus suspension load, brake temperature and driveline data time-aligned with position. Consumer trackers sample once every few seconds, which is fine for finding a van and useless for comparing two laps. We build to the sample rates the analysis actually requires.
How does driver behaviour data get used fairly?
As an operational tool, not surveillance. Harsh braking, acceleration and cornering events indicate risk and maintenance load, and are most useful aggregated over time rather than as individual incidents. For rental and courtesy fleets the practical use is damage attribution and insurance evidence; where employees drive the vehicles, we recommend agreeing the policy and telling drivers what is recorded before deployment.

- Yes. Marine units are cellular-primary with satellite fallback, so a vessel beyond mobile range continues reporting position and critical alarms such as bilge water.
- What sample rate do you support for motorsport?
- 5 to 10 Hz GPS with lap splits, time-aligned with suspension load, brake temperature and driveline channels, which is far beyond the few-second interval consumer trackers use.
- Can we geofence rental vehicles?

- Does this replace tachograph compliance?
- No. This is asset and behaviour telemetry for non-freight fleets; where drivers hours rules apply, the tachograph remains the legal record.
- Is driver behaviour data appropriate for employees?
- It is most useful aggregated for risk and maintenance rather than as individual incidents. Where employees drive the vehicles, agree the policy and tell drivers what is recorded before deployment.
